Was it real, that faraway pain?
Can I approach it? Is it still the same?
Will I survive when I open my heart?
Can I give healing a chance to start?
The man says no, the boy says yes,
For now is the time his pain to address,
He wants so much to be freed from his jail…
To be able to cry, to weep, to wail.
The boy says no, the man says yes,
He no longer wants to sit in this ugliness.
He longs for the embrace of a Father's arms,
Yet fears the hand which caused him such harm.
Where does it go? When will it end?
How can this see-saw begin to bend?
